Why am I skinny in the morning? I’m what you would consider ‘skinny.’ I don’t eat much, and I’m not anorexic. Instead, my body is just naturally very skinny long before the day even starts.
When I wake up in the morning after having had a good night’s rest I weigh at least 5-10 lbs less than my regular weight. This is because your body takes in less food and water during the night while you’re asleep. Also, when you sleep, your body rests to build up energy for the day ahead so it’s an active process that burns calories from your body too.

This also happens when I haven’t eaten for a while and it’s just how my body works. So if you aren’t eating, try to get enough sleep and don’t drink before you weigh yourself in the morning, it’s definitely going to be less than your regular weight.

If you want to gain weight or put on some muscle then try taking in more calories, eat foods that provide nutrients and supplements to obtain the same benefits. If you’re looking to lose weight then try avoiding calorie-dense foods and taking in less calories than your body burns throughout the day.
It’s not a bad thing but it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re healthy either so if you want to put on weight, try taking in more calories or trying to put on muscle by exercising with weights or other activities that use your body’s muscles.
